What is Sober Spring?

Sober Spring is a three-month alcohol-sabbatical, running from 20 March to 20 June.

Around 1000 people took part in last year’s Sober Spring, which author Catherine Gray ran through her Instagram. They loved it. So this year, Catherine Gray and Alcohol Change UK are launching Sober Spring on an official basis.

Sober Spring is free; you can sign up to receive weekly motivational emails with inspiration and advice from a range of sober influencers and experts. You can also choose to buy a ticket for one of the three Sober Spring mixers.

We're already deep in a sober revolution, with almost a third of 16-24 year olds now totally alcohol-free. The most recent data available from the Office of National Statistics found that one in five Brits are now teetotal.

Whether you want to break some habits and try out life alcohol-free, or kickstart your long-term sober life, Sober Spring is for you.

  • Sign up for weekly emails about Sober Spring from 18 March onwards. Emails will go out on Fridays, since that is often the day when people feel the most tempted to drink again, so it's when they need a boost and a reminder of why they started Sober Spring in the first place.

Why do Sober Spring?

Sober Spring is your chance to break habits, start new ones and experience life alcohol-free.

Who is Sober Spring for?

The sober-curious. Perhaps you’re not planning to go alcohol-free long-term, but you simply want to see what life is like without booze. Or maybe you're beginning to question whether your drinking takes away more than it gives, whether the negatives outweigh the positives, and whether you'd be happier if you didn't drink.

Already sober? You can take part too! If you're looking for a boost in motivation, or something extra to keep up your momentum, this is just the thing for you. And the Sober Spring mixers are a great way to build your local tribe.
